When I tutor a student, I like getting to know the student, their experiences and how their perceptions of topics that they will have to write about in the college arena. I currently have a bachelors degree in sociology with a minor in elementary education. I love teaching and am comfortable teaching students of all ages. I've learned from tutoring that each student learns in a different way. The great thing about one-on-one or small groups is that the teaching style can be adapted to what 'clicks' with the student. Some need a big-picture, overview explanation before delving into the details, others need a step-by-step methodology.
