My comments on tutoring Earth Science : I can teach all HS level sciences, and under.

Obtuse; willing to think outside of the box to get the student interested, even, excited to learn.
I have tutored fellow classmates in HS. I've taught my nieces and nephew to understand and love mathematics, as well as respect science, which is really just the real-world application of mathematics. I can explain many abstract topics in tangible ways. I love when I see that twinkle in someone's eye when something clicks and they grab onto the topic they once didn't comprehend.

Also, I believe that "hands on" practice is the best way to really learn a subject. The second step is then to breakdown the material and removing the myth that a traditionally challenging course is simply a "myth" and depends solely on the effort given by the student. Starting in 1992, I served as an adjunct professor at Johnson & Wales University teaching a 300 level environmental science class, a 100 level general non-major biology class, and also a 100 food sanitation class with a HACCP certification. In 1999, I left and began teaching middle school where I have been since. During my time, I have taught 6-8th grade science, 6-8th grade social studies, 6th and 7th grade math, and 6th through high school credit enginering under the Project Lead the Way program.
