I graduated with all A's and B's in high school. My favorite subjects are reading and writing, which I prefer to teach. Strong in history and elementary and middle school math. I have been tutoring for the past 10 years before and after school both privately and group settings. I am a public school teacher now and would like to tutor after school for the 2013-2014 school year. I usually get a student in first grade and the student keeps working with me until third or fourth grade. I use a hands on approach and am especially good with LD and Add students. Progress not perfection

In school I'm often choosen to help other students learn material that they are struggling with. Some things such as history and english come naturally for me so I'm confident that I can help other people learn those subjects as well. I feel comfortable working with all types of students because everyone has potential to be great at any subject they want to as long as they are willing to put in 100 percent!
I make sure the people I help are very organized because organization is the first key to a good learning environment. I also love flash cards and work sheets!

I've always believed that children learn by doing. I would rather have my students get real hands-on experience because concepts can be better attained and understood if children get real experience with it. I also believe that children learn differently from one another and a teacher should be able to accommodate the different learning styles of her or his students. One method may not work for a student, so I feel that it is the teacher's responsibility to make sure each student reaches their full potential by finding ways that will work for her/his students and then incorporate these differences in the classroom.

A Little Bit About Me...

My experiences have spanned all ages and types of children's learning abilities. From a church setting, to a public school to a driver training car. As a substitute teacher, I worked on developing a good rapport with the students. And was always willing to assist them in working towards understanding the concepts before them.
