Composition is one of my top subjects! I have taught composition for two years as an adjunct instructor at Shawnee State University.

Immediately after I obtained my bachelors degree in English/communications with a minor in journalism I began substitute teaching at Portsmouth City Schools as well as teaching developmental writing and composition English classes as an adjunct at Shawnee State University. I have worked as a educational aide for the 2013-14 school year.I have developed and maintained a positive rapport with students and faculty.

Composition is one of my top subjects! I have taught English, communications, creative as well as business writing, and a variety of language arts areas for over six years at the elementary through Career College level.

Student-centered, Co-intentional. I believe that the key to learning is the motivation to want to learn. Once that has been accomplished, just stand back and guide the student to what they want next.
I have worked in schools in Kentucky and Ohio. I have been a tutor, intervention aide, long term substitute teacher, and regular classroom teacher. I have always been driven to achieve a high level of excellence in everything I do. As a college student, I tutored many of my friends and peers for free. I have tutored several children since graduating college for free as well, and have always enjoyed helping others learn and understand new things.
I love children of all ages. I am very patient and laid back. I am kind, and considerate of others. My goal would be to help the child learn and understand, while making the experience a fun and rewarding one. I believe everyone has the ability to do whatever they strive for. A Little Bit About Me...

As a non-traditional student, earning an Associates in Applied Science Degree majoring in Respiratory Therapy at Shawnee State University I excelled in both Science and English. I have written several essays, lab reports, and presentations and have been published in Guidepost Magazine. I have experience as a tutor and mentor from elementary (all subjects) to college level (science and English) students. I also have experience with developmentally challenged students.
I have specialize training in “The Gentle Teaching Method” pertaining to the developmentally challenged student. I have discovered that this method works with traditional learners as well. I am extremely patient and believe that all children possess individual learning skills and I am dedicated to discovering which technique to use to motivate your child to find their academic success.
