I graduated from high school in 2005 and was 12th in my class. Out of high school, I worked as a pre-school teacher with children ages 1-8 years. I attended Ohio University Athens for Speech Therapy for four years and am now finishing my undergraduate degree online. While in college, I took many child development courses and english courses because I find both to be so much fun to learn about. I also took classes in Math 1, Pre-Algebra, Algebra and statistics. I know work full time as an administrative assistant at a line construction company, so I spend several hours a day typing and working with programs such as Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel and Power Point.

I would to teach math because I have been applying math my entire life. I have a four year degree in mechanical engineering technology. I have used math extensively in my everyday job. I enjoy teaching adults as well as high school students. I do not have much training teaching below junior high; however, I am confident that I could successfully teach math or language. Although, I don't mind the traditional classroom setting, I am quite used to instructing on a one-to-one basis. Our GED programs are completely individualized for learners to move at their own pace, and I encourage this type of teaching style when manageable. Many of the students/adults that I have worked with have a learning disability of some sort, but I feel that I learn from each student just as much as they are learning from me. A Little Bit About Me...

Throughout college I volunteered to educate school age children about egg/chick development in schools around Columbus. My first job out of college was to educate children and adults in high need areas about food science and nutrition. I then worked at a few different food science jobs while taking classes part time toward a masters in education and volunteering to tutor adults.
