After graduating from Georgetown University in Washington D.C., I returned to Wyoming to work in politics and government. I have been asked to teach chapters on Government in the local high schools as well as teaching Sunday School classes locally in Cheyenne. As a mechanical engineering graduate I have had extensive experience in the area of mathematics. Almost everything class that I have taken requires a strong understanding of mathematics. I also have teaching experience as a fluid dynamics teaching assistant.

I teach straight forward using the math laws which makes math logical and easy to understand. Algebra is the key to understanding all other levels of calculus and physics which is applied mathematics as well as chemistry.
While I was attending Weber State University, my part-time employment was to be a mathematics tutor for recent high school grads who did not pick up math from the elementry levels. I would tutor 8 hrs a day in between my classes for two years Student Support Services in Ogden UT where the college is located. I am at present a test evaluator for Kelly Services grading the Massachusetts math test for MCAS in Longmont CO.

I believe the most effective way to learn is through self discovery of the concepts. This should be done in a very positive environment in which the student is encouraged and motivated to fully understand the material. I don't believe in memorization, but understanding.
I have always loved helping others. In college I tutored 2 seperate high school students in chemistry and one in algebra, for a total of about 2 yrs experience. In college I also participated in "Students teaching AIDS to Students". I volunteered at a preschool in Costa Rica where I taught sanitation and health. I have traveled to Africa multiple times to volunteer and conduct research. I am very experienced in the fields of science and math and love passing this knowledge on to others. As a teacher’s assistant for photography in high school, I realized that I had a natural aptitude for teaching and breaking subjects down into manageable parts. In college, I was the person that other students came to for guidance with difficult topics, from mathematical equations to evolutionary theory. Since I earned my BS in wildlife biology, I have taught in many capacities, including as a substitute teacher and as a trainer for new employees. I have taught discouraged children to read and fostered latent talents. My degrees have taken me places that I never thought they would. I was excited to teach English in a school in Costa Rica for one year. There I was able to learn Spanish quickly as well as help elementary school children learn English. I taught grammar as well as science. I also tutored on the side in all subjects. Previous to this experience I tutored a fourth grader in geography, history, and spelling. In college I used many skills that helped me to prepare for teaching. A short list of these skills is math, creative writing, computer skills, memorization, and art work. Due to the fact that I was a science and art major I wrote many essays and made many different types of projects. For two semesters I did microbiology research, where I learned critical thinking and lab technique. I enjoy teaching children and have been assisting children in their homework for many years.
