I have earned both an AS in Science and Mathematics as well as completed all requirements for my BA in business administration with a concentration in accounting. I have volunteered at an elementary school tutoring while I was in high school. I have also tutored individuals in college level material on a private basis for compensation. My primary strength is mathematics although I am quite skilled in English as well. I have always possessed a love of helping others to learn. It brings me great joy to witness when an individual grasps a concept which they have been having difficulty with. I tend to use a demonstrator style of teaching by first working through a problem slowly while asking the student questions to ensure that they understand what I am doing. In my experience the fundamental reason people need tutoring boils down to a failure to truly understand the concept of the debit and credit. I always begin by reviewing these concepts and ensuring that the student/intern fully understands the logic behind the debit and credit. Once understood, the comfort level with accounting fundamentals drastically improves and we can move on from there.
