Experienced, university-quality instruction at low rates

I prefer face-to-face interaction, as language learning is a social experience. With that in mind, I am happy with one-on-one tutoring as well as small groups, even with different levels of experience. Also, language learning should be fun! While the basics such as vocabulary, rules of grammar, etc. are necessary, that does not mean instruction needs to be boring.

I like the tutoring environment because I like seeing individual progress. It is easier to assess where the child is. I believe that the basics are essential to moving forward in education. Memorization of math facts makes it easier for a child to learn new material because he isn't bogged down. I don't believe enough emphasis is placed on arithmetic in today's schools. Basic arithmetic skills make story problems easier. Types of story problems need to be practiced, not just thrown in at the end of a chapter without much information on how to do it. I am patient and punctual. I like being with students.

I recently graduated from Brigham Young University with a Bachelor's of Science degree in Human Development. However, before Human Development was my major, it was English Language. Through my four years at a major university, I have learned how to properly write research essays, what sources are credible for essays, and essay format. I also have had a pet-peeve for words that are incorrecly spelled and when there are grammatical errors in something professionally done.

When I was younger I had a really tough time with my speech and with my reading/comprehension. I went through school constantly having to work slower and harder than most students in my class. I was so determined to get better at my learning disabilities that I decided to go to a tutor. I recently graduated from Brigham Young University in April 2011. I am a graduate in Communications can help in English, Writing, Editing but also took AP Calculus and AP Statistics and passed both tests. I love math but feel that communicating through writing is very important.
