I have a B.S. in Biomedical Engineering, minor in Environmental Engineering, and am currently enrolled in graduate school to pursue a M.S. in Sustainable Engineering. I have extensive research experience in these fields, and am most interested in improving the standard of living of those in need. I have worked on several projects, in the U.S. and abroad, incorporating sustainable energy and improving health conditions. I have had the unique opportunity through my diverse educational experiences to work with many different types of people. My initial degree is in Social science from Alfred State University. Throughout my education at Alfred State University I truly believe I began to understand and appreciate others and their differences. I received my second degree from Cortland State University in Early Childhood Education with Inclusion. I had the opportunity to work with many different types of children. I also had many diverse experiences while teaching first grade in Florida. In addition to teaching first grade I was also lucky to be able to tutor children from disadvantaged communities and help them thrive in school. I am looking to forward to teaching and would like display my skills. I am a very energetic person with the ability to take control of a classroom while producing winning results.

I finished my degree by going to summer and night school; I graduated in 1979. I was the first in my family to go to college and I am very proud of that. I have become a much better writer and am much more aware of grammar through writing reports, technical papers and SOPs. For a couple of years I volunteered for Literacy Volunteers because of my love of reading. I like working with children. They are so appreciative and excited when they learn and figure out a new word or anything. I am easy going and very supportive. GIven a good learning atmosphere, good support, encouragement and enthusiasm and children can learn. I love teaching. Tutoring has been my favorite job so far, and although I was unable to continue working with Tutor.com due to time restrictions, I now am free to work with students and would like to tutor again. I am extremely patient with students, and my solid understanding of subject matter allows me to think of multiple ways in which I can help a student through a problem. Many people describe engineers as socially backwards, but I am extremely well-spoken and am great at communicating my ideas.
