Pre-Calculus is one of my top subjects! Expert at all Pre-Calculus concepts. Particularly good at strongly emphasizing the concepts that are critically important to calculus (negative exponents, fractional exponents, exponent laws in general, factoring, function types and their graphs and how to shift and reflect them, minima and maxima, difference quotient, etc.) and pointing out what you can learn and forget because you won't need it in calculus.

If you watch me closely during our sessions, you can see me secretly paying keen attention to you and how you learn best. For example, you might say, "It LOOKS like they want me to factor here." And I'll think, "Aha! LOOKS. Maybe you're a visual learner and like to SEE things explained and SEE examples. (About 80% of students are visual learners.) On the other hand, you might say, "It sounds like they want me to factor here." And I'll think, "Aha! sounds. Maybe you like to HEAR things explained, and you're a keen listener and like to hear things described clearly and specifically. I really enjoy being around kids and helping them learn new things. When you teach a kid something and they finally get it, the sight of their face lighting up is priceless. I believe that one should teach using a variety of methods because all kids do not learn the same way and each individual method shows something new each time. I believe that all kids can learn so much if they work as hard as they can and put forth maximum effort. I think it is very easy to learn/teach using as many hands on examples as possible.

I am a recent honors graduate of the Virginia Military Institute with a degree in civil and environmental engineering. This course of academic study exposed me to a broad range of upper-level mathematics, physics, and chemistry.
