I have one BS in Electrical Engineering, and while an upper-class student tutored younger students. As a senior, I also tutored Intro to EE students on request 2-3 times per week. I currently teach Leadership basics to enlisted Marines during the week. I have a heavy math and science backgrounds based on my major, but also have self-studied psychology, history, and technical writing. I can tutor in almost any subject at the high school level, and engineers or math/science courses at the collegiate level.
In my military experience, I see all sorts of learning styles and ability levels. I am able to break down hard concepts of math/science/engineering so that regardless of learning style, we can work towards understanding. While putting my now seventh grader son through school, I have learned I have natural ability, desire and passion to teach, especially math, logic, statistics. I easily apply cases to the real world cases for easier understanding. I also discovered I have a simple driven mind for logic. I earned my Bachelors Degree in Computer Science/Computer Information Systems and should graduate from University of Illinois Chicago with my Masters of Engineering Degree at the end of 2010.
I know how and I love working with children. So far they all reciprocate positively. I believe I should use my education and experience along with my desire to transfer my knowledge to children who want and need to develop a solid, stable background in basic math, statistics and engineering.
