I have always approached a teaching lesson as a learning opportunity. Learning is a fundamental skill. If you don't have your basic fundamentals, your student will have difficulty advancing. So, I always start with basic fundamentals such as; note taking, study skills, and comprehension! All sciences demand the ability to link concepts together. Ex. cells make up tissues, tissues make up organs, organs make up organ systems,etc.....! Learning Can be Fun!

I have tutored children in group and individual piano lessons. I have tutored them in math and social studies. I have spent over 20 years in business in the accounting field and prepared countless financial statements and income tax returns. I am skilled in all things mathematical. Statistics is one of my top subjects! I am not a professional Statistician but I did very well in my College Statistics class and assisted many students in comprehending the material. I received a lot of positive feedback on my ability to simplify methods to solve various problems and I demonstrate the easiest ways to use the TI-84 for STAT questions.

I do not have any experience as a tutor, but I am working toward an Education Degree and have done 30 hours of Field Observations in Florida's Public Schools and at Page Private School. I am good at Math but I am better at Statistics, which I understand fundamentally. My teaching style involves a lot of examples and having the student answer the questions on the board. I am able to come up with examples off the top of my head and have the student work through the problem to prevent "dumb" mistakes (such as forgetting a minus sign). I am very patient and allow my students as much time as possible and encourage them to ask whenever they are stuck. I try to show that math can be fun and interesting and that there are applications out in the real world.
I began tutoring math for Stetson University which ranged from Algebra 1 to Calculus 2. I then began tutoring privately and I have tutored lower level math and advanced statistics. I have tutored a student who was failing calculus in class but then they earned the highest possible grade on the standardized test. I also have a degree in mathematics.
