My comments on tutoring Poetry : I am a Cerftified High School English teacher. Poetry is and effective way to express thoughts and feelings.

I have a basic approach to tutoring and teaching students: - Identify what the student knows and still needs to learn to get where we need to bo. - Identify the strengths and weaknesses...and review the strengths and work at a rigoris pace to get where we know the child's skill level needs to be. - Celebrate the students successes to build thier confidence and increase their willingness to learn more and utlimately do better. _ Building a relationship with the student that we are partners in their education and we both will work to reach our set goals.

A Little Bit About Me...

I believe each student can learn and it’s my responsibility to find how each one learns best. So much of it is about instilling confidence in the student that he or she is intelligent and capable of mastering the subject. I have been very successful at this and have often had short tutoring assignments: once we discover what is keeping a student from grasping the subject, fixing it is easy and then the student can proceed on their own with or without the help of a parent. The younger the student, the more I appreciate having the parent involved in what I am doing, and the results we are achieving, so they can actively participate with their child, especially once I am no longer needed.

A Little Bit About Me...

I have taught high school and middle school English, as well as one year of teaching at an alternative school. Additional experience would include substitute teaching, Boys and Girls Club instruction, being a Girl Scout leader, and Sunday school instruction. I also have some experience as a homebound teacher and tutor. I am currently working on my Master's Degree in English Literature at WKU and substitute teaching.
My teaching style is very interactive, as I believe that a student learns more quickly and retains more if he/she is actively involved.
