I have an MAT degree and have taught Latin I, II, and III for 25 years. I will gladly work with the Cambridge or Ecce Romani textbook series or with my own materials which incorporate the best of both of these. The goal of my instruction is reading knowledge of Latin as opposed to the memorization of a grammar that does not apply to English. The stories I use to teach reading classical Latin center around the everyday lives of Roman families and their slaves, not military and political events. This is the vocabulary of everyday Roman life that has passed its roots into English, and so this is the Latin that should be learned in order to enhance one's English vocabulary.
