I have been an elementary school teacher for nearly 18 years. I taught for 7 years in Elk Creek and 10 years in Los Molinos where I currently teach 2nd and 3rd grade. I earned Glenn County Teacher of the Year in 1998 and Tehama County Teacher of the Year in 2007. I was also named Glenn County Teacher of the Week for Channel 7 News in 1999. From 1992 to 1996 I trained in study skills for the History and Geology departments at Chico State through the Equity Services Office. This included a 3 hour training session each week in addition to tutoring individually and in groups for struggling college students. This was 4 of the greatest years ever! I have completed a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, with a double option in Accounting and Finance, as well as a second major in Economics, from California State University, at Chico (CSUC). I was an academic tutor for the Student Learning Center at CSUC for two semesters, where I attained an advanced level tutoring certificate from the College Reading & Learning Association. I have also been a private academic tutor for two additional semesters since leaving the Student Learning Center. I graduated from the University of California, Irvine earning my Bachelor's degree, with cum laude honors, in only 3 years.
