My comments on tutoring Sociology : college GPA 4.0 after a year of sociology classes

Hello! I earned my Bachelor of Arts in psychology (3.5 GPA) in 2012 and have been tutoring English; ESL; reading; writing; and more for 8 years. I began as a volunteer through my university's writing lab, per recommendation by a cherished professor. I have worked with children and adults from a variety of cultures (South Korean; Venezuelan; Mexican; Turkish), and I have enjoyed playing the role of "student" in my own regard. I love to learn about other traditions and practices. One of the most rewarding experiences for me as a tutor was when I worked with a South Korean family for 1 year. While teaching two school age boys, I was privileged to be introduced to a bevy of Asian foods; practices; and even the Korean language itself. I am currently enrolled at Walden University finishing up my PhD in Clinical Psychology-(Teaching component); I am working on My dissertation for my PhD in Psychology from NorthCentral University. I have been working with online students for over ten years helping them with reading, math and other studies. At times there maybe a need to meet in person if the student is having a hard time grasping the information via internet. Being raised in a home with educators greatly influenced who I am, and how I view the building of knowledge. While I earned my B.S in psychology and minored in business, I participated in after school tutoring programs for a local public school. My studies of child development and the neuropsychology involved in learning helped immensely as I pursued my graduate degree in the college of education.
