A Little Bit About Me...

I have tutored many people in several subjects over the years and find the work fulfilling. I recently have graduated out of the education system and am well aware of what it takes to succeed. I now have a BA in Political Science and a Juris Doctorate and on the way to earning these degrees I successfully passed some of the worlds most difficult tests on the first attempt. My preferred teaching style is discussion with leadership. When the student can relate to the information through own experience or peer experience the information is better absorbed. In a classroom situation a certain amount of lecture is also needed to stimulate the conversation and present the subject materials. As a tutor it would be more a discussion and personal discovery that isn't as easy with a large class.

Laid back, but encouraging.If a child is struggling, I don't think you should add fear and criticism to the situation. Having had Catholic nuns in all my grammer school days, pretty much put the "fear of God" into me, until I went on to public high school and college. then I was able to relax and embrace english and literature.
My BA degree was in Speech & Theatre. Who would have known that a shy kid like me would have excelled in public speaking, english, and theatre. I love the English language, even though I've had classes in French and Spanish. I started school when I was 4 years old (too early), and all my grade school years was challanged with education. Now that I am an adult, I feel that I have the experience to help children understand and find it easier to learn English and grammer, sentence writing, composition writing, essays, etc.
