I have tutored and educated staff to raise their knowledge and understanding in an effort to help them appreciate their role and the benefit of their effort toward the goals of the overall department and organization. It has been my privilege to work with many bright, wonderful people who often didn't know "why they were doing what they were doing" or how important their role/work was to the whole. I have twenty-five years of experience teaching religious subject matter(and the Bible)in smaller church settings. I have both a Bachelor's Degree and Master's Degree, and am in the process of completing a professional Doctorate at a local seminary. I have also had the opportunity to teach a graduate level seminary class. Most people believe that teaching is my strength and my greatest gifting, and that some of my best work has been done in one-on-one settings.

My experience as a teacher began in my Church, I taught for 3 years in one of our Sunday School classes. My students ranged in age from 2-11 years old. After graduation from the University of Washington I was unsure if Education was what I wanted to do. So I chose a different path, and found out just how much I loved to teach. I decided to take the certification exam for Reading and Elementary Education I passed the Reading exam and missed the Elem. Ed by 5 points. I decided to go into Adult education to see if it was for me. I began teaching communications at Bates in November of 2009, I now teach Interpersonal Communications and a Human Relations course. I just completed training to become a certified online instructor.
