I have tutored and educated staff to raise their knowledge and understanding in an effort to help them appreciate their role and the benefit of their effort toward the goals of the overall department and organization. It has been my privilege to work with many bright, wonderful people who often didn't know "why they were doing what they were doing" or how important their role/work was to the whole. As a manager, I knew/know that 'you can only be as good as your people'. I love to see people succeed and come to believe in themselves and their abilities. I love to teach, and I believe my teaching style is very laid back. I like to allow my students to attempt things and try to figure it out with the information I provide. That way I know they are grasping the concepts. That is more important to me then speeding through a course just to get things done. I would be a failure if one of my students left my course not knowing exactly what they were doing. So I pride myself in slowing down if needed to ensure everyone is on the same page and can retain the information that is being taught to them.
My experience as a teacher began in my Church, I taught for 3 years in one of our Sunday School classes. My students ranged in age from 2-11 years old.
