I have loved education and the process of learning since I was a child. Due to family issues, I dropped out at in the 9th grade but due to extensive reading most of my life on many subjects, and being gifted intellectually, thank God, I was enrolled in college at the age of 16. Due to my age, I lacked the discipline needed to succeed then so joined the Army at 18 and finished first in my class in their HS program. I continued going to college in the evenings an weekends until I completed my Master's degree, meanwhile raising 3 children and running a certified home daycare. I love kids, and I love helping them learn and succeed. I have always believed that children learn best when learning is fun and interesting. I try to incorporate new and interesting methods of teaching into my lessons, including manipulatives and "hands-on" learning, and using "real world" examples that kids can relate to.
