I graduated with an M.Ed. in Higher Education and Student Affairs from the University of South Carolina in May of 2010. Directly after graduating, I began a career as an Academic Advisor in the Moore School of Business Undergraduate Division at the University of South Carolina. I currently still hold this job. I also taught a University 101 course to 25 incoming freshmen in the Fall of 2010. This course included helping the students get acquainted with resources on campus, learn study/time management strategies, and much more. After completing my bachelor degree in Elementary Education, I began teaching First Grade. Each day I was responsible for a maximum of thirty children at a time. I taught Bible, Phonics, Reading, Spelling, Arithmetic, Poetry, Science, Health, Art, History, and Writing. As a teacher in middle school, teaching art was fun and exciting. Until I began to subsititute, did I feel that I could teach and wanted to help children learn. I taught for two years with being a subsitute for nearly four years. I am working on my masters in elementary education. I believe that teaching should be interactive with imput from the student.
