I teach the student to actually incorporate the learning skills that I teach into his or her daily study routine. I am very active in the classroom and I believe in making learning fun and enjoyable. There are so many ways to help children learn, yet many of them are not used for one reason or another. If information must be memorized, I like to put it to song or a rap. Other methods of learning that are very useful are concept maps, discussions, and performing. Another very successful method that I've employed is having the student actually teach me rather than me teach the student. It is VERY effective. I believe every child can succeed in school. Every child has the ability to reach his/her highest potential, even those who are struggling. Sometimes it is just a matter of finding the technique that works best for that child. Not every child learns exactly the same way but every child can learn! I am the mother of 3 children and an elementary education teacher. Currently I am teaching 2nd grade but I've been teaching for 5 years and have experience in grades k,1, 2, 3 and 5. I have experience in both suburban and urban schools working with children of varying abilities and skill levels.
