I have worked previously as an au pair, summer camp counselor (Children's Arts Camp, Theater Pre-Orientation), and reading tutor. I have experience teaching children with various levels of autism and learning disorders. While my primary experience has been with performance arts such as dance, theater, and public speaking, I am also experienced in reading, composition, and creative writing. A Little Bit About Me...

I love teaching and working with all types of children. I think children learn in different ways and have to conform to their teaching style. I was a slow reader but have learned ways to make reading fun. I hope to make reading fun for the child. I want the children to meet thier full potential of what they are capeable of. I want to make a difference and start making a reader today.
As a college graduate I have been driven to do my best to make sure every child is given the opportunity to have the very best education. My easy going nature and fun personality allows me to make learning interesting. I have always believed that the best way for someone to learn is to put the information into terms that are understandable to them. In the past I have used illustrations, acted out scenes from battles, utilized initialisms, and made up songs to help students learn concepts. Connections between the content and familiar concepts are essential, and thus I find it very important to get to know the student and how they learn in order to best help them. I am a fun teacher and enjoy tricking students into learning. I have developed games, songs, and various devices which attract attention and result in learning, regardless of whether the student even notices. I have a knack for revising sentences or instructions to captivate attention which encourages the student to answer or start writing immediately. They become known for getting dependent on doing their homework with me, but eventually I cease being an enabler once the result of our efforts start producing better grades.
