As an undergraduate student at Utah State University, I spent two years working as a Undergraduate Teaching Fellow, a Teacher's Assistant, and a Supplemental Instructor. I taught labs and assisted students with understanding information in the subject areas of Microbiology, Human Anatomy, and Human Physiology. I held review sessions, created tests and quizzes, and met with students individually or in groups to answer questions, review tests, or improve study habits. I love teaching kids. All kids can are different in the way they learn. you need to be able to recognize those kids who are auditory learners, and hands on learners and be able to make a good balance of both so both kids may benefit. I like to set goals for each tutor session weather it be something like learning the alphabet or knowing you first ten multiplication facts. You then need to set one long term goal for that child to reach. this way each day they feel as if they have succeeded and learned something. I am a life-long learner, both academically and professionally with a diverse professional experience. I have an MS degree in Public Health and a BA in Biology. I am often described as laid back. I focus on the key components of learning and students are surprised when they understand more than they thought that they did. With music, I enjoy beginners equally as well as more accomplished students. I also enjoy a good joke now and then. In public schools, I have taught all grades 7-12. I have taught high school physics, high school chemistry, high school biology, 7th grade science. I received a minor in chemistry that required me to also take the calculus series in high school.
