A Little Bit About Me...

For over 20 years, I have had the opportunity to tutor children, peers and older adults in various subjects including math, English and science as well as guide them at presentation skills, critical thinking and small business solutions. As an undergraduate student, I was selected, by the International Teachers Abroad Program at Vanderbilt (ITAP), to teach graduate level, teaching assistants, how to enhance their ability to communicate in English and to communicate their subject matter to undergraduate students. After graduating from Vanderbilt University, I began working full-time at a modern-day orphanage. A Little Bit About Me...

My experience includes 2 years as a Youth Counselor for the City of Tallahassee (1999 & 2001). I am also the oldest of 5 children with the age difference ranging from 6-16 years, so I've had the responsibility of assisting my siblings with school work. I currently continue to provide assistance as requested by my parents or siblings. I recently began mentoring a prospective accounting major who is in her 2nd year of college and I provide help with her studies. In college I assisted with my church youth group and led classes approximately once a month for two years. During 2010 I volunteered with a Kindergarten class. I assisted the students with in-class assignments in writing and math. I hold a bachelors degree in accounting with a minor in vocal performance. I also studied German during this time. I have completed 17.5 semester hours towards a masters degree in liberal studies with a focus in international business and German. I went to trade school while in high school and studied Early Childhood Education where I had book work for half of the day and the other half of the day I worked as a Day Care Teacher with children from 6 weeks old to age 4.
