My comments on tutoring Accounting : I am a CPA in the state of Ohio. I am teaching accounting at a local college. I have tutored students in accounting.

I stated my career as a 7th and 8th grade math teacher in Oberlin Ohio. I taught two years at Beachwood High School, teaching algebra, geometry, physics and calculus. I went back to school to receive my masters in accounting. I work for a large public accounting firm and received by CPA license. From public accounting I started my internal audit career. I consulted many different companies in a variety of industries. I became a Certified Internal Auditor and became president of the local chapter. As an auditor I trained staff and also trained auditees in accounting matters. I learned how to solve problems and develop my common sense approach in developing solutions. I never really considered myself a teacher as much as just someone who understood something a little better than someone else. To that extent I guess my style is more of helping someone to gain a better understanding of a particular topic or process. Discussion and example as well as some actual hands on tasks will help someone to discover their own potential for understanding and mastering the topic at hand. I want to leave that person with a comfortable feeling of "I can do this!" when faced with having to perform that task on their own.
My tutoring experience comes from high school, college and job environments. I love working with children. Every child has their way of learning, and it just takes patience to find out how they process information. I am very patient, considerate, and positive that everyone can learn. I am a visual learner myself, and find that utilizing visual cues helps others with engraining information as well.
