My comments on tutoring ACT : chemistry and math

I received a B.S. in Chemistry and an minor in Mathematics and eventually took enough hours to hold a teaching certificate to teach secondary Math and Science. I taught Chemistry for 16 of my 19 years and also Math, Physics, and Digital Electronics for a few years. I learned a great deal about various teaching modalities through my years of teaching and I believe I can be a successful tutor in Chemistry. Presently, I am enrolled in a Masters program in IT/Project Management and the knowledge I have gained in this program will help me in the area of tutoring. Three teachers impacted my life not only as a result of the content of their classes but in their delivery. All three approached learning as an adventure. Even though the topics ranged from sixth grade mathematics to fluid dynamics each teacher keyed their presentation on the reception of the students. If the first presentation didn’t get the topic across an alternative presentation was made, often in a humorous vein. Students were never allowed to feel inadequate.
