I began my college studies in the Liberal Arts program. I put my education on hold and began a career as a portrait photographer. Technology dictated that I would need to improve my skills in order to succeed. I took a course in computer technology, later found the basics were not enough. Being able to help others understand math gives me such a great feeling of accomplishment. I feel like I am helping them to solve a riddle and know from personal experience the vast opportunities that understanding math can give to you. I believe that the majority of students are not given the proper tools or techniques to understand math and that it needs to be individualized.
