My comments on tutoring Sociology : college GPA 4.0 after a year of sociology classes

Hello! I earned my Bachelor of Arts in psychology (3.5 GPA) in 2012 and have been tutoring English; ESL; reading; writing; and more for 8 years. I began as a volunteer through my university's writing lab, per recommendation by a cherished professor. I have worked with children and adults from a variety of cultures (South Korean; Venezuelan; Mexican; Turkish), and I have enjoyed playing the role of "student" in my own regard. I love to learn about other traditions and practices. One of the most rewarding experiences for me as a tutor was when I worked with a South Korean family for 1 year. While teaching two school age boys, I was privileged to be introduced to a bevy of Asian foods; practices; and even the Korean language itself. I have a friendly teaching style; I use a lot of sense of humor. But, this takes a lot of hard work to achieve. The reason I am able to teach French grammar in a non-intimidating, almost very relaxing way, is because I had to master it. I have a way of getting closer to my students and to their difficulties by having the ability to relate almost every chapter I introduce to my personal experiences. And, I have anecdotes almost about any new topic I present. I am a story teller in that sense. Sometime my students beg me to tell them more anecdotes.
