A Little Bit About Me...

I am a currently a working civil engineer specializing in bridge design (steel and concrete structures). I received scores of 760 in Math on both the SAT I and II, and a score of 800 in Math on the GRE's. I have taken several high level calculus, engineering mathematics, and statistics classes at the University of Delaware, aside from receiving a 5 on both the Calculus and the Statistics AP Exams. I have tutored elementary students in the past, and was part of a 'teaching scientists' after school company briefly in college.
I believe in talking through problems using visual ideas and simplified concepts. I prefer teaching with graphics and concepts, and then relating them to formulas and equations. While I expect hard work from my students, I also have the patience to help them understand at their own pace.

A Little Bit About Me...

With over four teaching experience in a K-8 school district I hold a Standard Certificate in Elementary Education and Middle School Language Arts. I graduated Magna Cum Laude with my Masters in Education. I have designed curriculum for Language Arts and Technology for two school districts. My experiences include working with Wilsons Foundations, Guided Reading, Writers Workshop, and Readers Workshop. I will be commencing this Fall, my second Masters in Education as a Reading Specialist.
