My teaching style is "Me, We, You". I will show the student how to work through the problem/concept, then we will do it together, then I will oversee and make corrections on the student's attempt to do it his/herself. I worked directly with middle school children who had ADD, ADHD as well as other physical handicaps including Cerebral Palsy. My teaching style is best described as adaptive. We all learn differently, some more so by doing, others by seeing or listening, and others by thinking it through. Learning is a combination of processes, emphasizing what works best. For me, the approach is to use what works best for the student to learn what needs to be learned, with the underlying objective of the student learning how to learn - meaning a self-awareness of what works best for him or her. The tough learning is slugging it through the stuff that we just don’t seem to get or seems to have no value in our future lives. A Little Bit About Me...

My teaching style totally depends on the student(s) that I am working with. Not all children learn at the same pace, nor do they all have the same attention span. That said, I find that applying the “token economy” approach, in getting the children to focus on the task, is very effective. If given time and patience, children are capable of accomplishing most anything.
I have been working with children for more than 20 years, as a tutor and mentor.
