My comments on tutoring Reading : I have not taught reading specifically, outside of my own child (she has very high reading scores), but reading is a great passion of mine, and I believe that I would be excellent at tutor this subject.

I am a fan of the Socratic method of teaching, where students are led to an understanding of the material through a series of questions designed to help them think their own way to the answer.
I have significant experience teaching and tutoring over the past 15 years, from the time I began college and was a lab assistant during chemistry labs, through supporting myself through college by tutoring, and finally teaching numerous college and university courses over the last 10 years.
