A Little Bit About Me...

I have a degree in Early Childhool however, I have taught Biology for 9th and 10th graders in a private school. My husband, being prior military kept us moving so I have been a substitute for many years. I also taught my son until the 4th grade and he is now attending private school.
I believe that there are 3 types of learners: 1.Oral : learn by hearing 2.Visual : learn by seeing 3.Kinesthetic: learn by hearing, seeing and using their hands The Oral learner is a “teacher’s pet” because they are the students that will listen in class, barely take notes and do quite well in school. The Visual learner must “look on” as a teacher reads, not taking notes but to follow along in a book. The Kinesthetic learner usually has to listen, take notes, read along but will also tap their foot or a pencil.These types of “distractions” actually help a kinesthetic learner.

My approach to teaching can be best described as adaptive. My varied experience has enabled me to develop different methods for different situations. There is no "typical student," and it is my belief that a good tutor or teacher adapts his or her methods to an individual's learning style—not the other way around.
