The method of teaching used will depend on the subject and student. As a general rule, I prefer method of explanation, demonstration, and drill. The person being tutored must have a desire to learn. This can be fostered in children by explaining how they will benefit from learning the material.
I am a Systems Engineer with a BS in Business and a MS in Computer Science. Systems Engineering involves getting disparate systems, equipment, and/or people to work together to accomplish a goal. My college grade point average is currently 3.53. After finishing up my A.S. A Little Bit About Me...

Over the years (as undergrad and graduate), I have tutored middle school and elementary age students in various subjects. I have also been a resource for undergrad and graduate health science students while serving as a graduate assistant (public health master's program). I proctored exams and held tutoring and review sessions prior to testing. I have two master's degrees, three undergraduate degrees, and experience as a paramedic, nurse, and substitute teacher.
I believe in completing an individual needs assessment and designing a study approach around that assessment. I believe in constant reinforcement and reassessment. I also believe it is useful to utilize as many and as varied forms of instruction as possible (written, audio-visual, demonstration, etc.) to solidify a concept. I, Chad Hanson started out teaching private piano lessons after I grauated from college. I have nine years of experience in the line of work. I also have one year experience as a teacher's assitant, and one year as a teacher's position. I would like to continue my experience in the field of tutoring. I received 30 hours of social studies which is state required for middle school and high school teacher's certificate. I have also obtained 19 hours of mathematics which is required for middle school.
Most of my teaching style is based on one to one teaching. I also have two years of experience teaching in a group. Most of my teaching style has been one on one. When I was working a teacher's position each student was working on a different level. But I did include several activitites that were on the same level of the whole class.
