A Little Bit About Me...

I like to go through the problem with the student. I will go through the steps as necessary and I like for the student to ask questions along the way.
Got a degree at Texas Tech in mathematics with a minor in Mechanical Engineering. I have more experience with helping others who know what they are doing but needed that little nudge in understanding a certain subject. I specialize more in applied math rather than proofs or pure mathematics. I don't do a lot of tutoring nowadays but I understand how college is and how college students work. Take this advice: studying a lot is the way to really succeed and even the most brilliant students have to do it (try studying for actuarial tests and you'll find this out real quick!).

Where would you like see yourself in the next year?

I like to help the student understand the subject better and keep them interested in the subject. I may not be a certified teacher, but I am both willing and able to do anything to help the student do well in the subject they are in.
I am a student at Texas Tech University, who has a great amount of experience in mathematics. I am currently working on my bachelor's in mechanical engineering, I have been known to teach any subject very well and have been told that I would make a great teacher. I taught 11 years, grades 6-12 in the subjects of mathematics 6-12, physical science, life science, earth science, biology, chemistry and physics at Union Schools, Brownfield, Texas and Plains Schools at Plains Texas. I was a learning center director for 7 1/2 years and finally a director of Media and Technology at Education Service Center - Region 17 at Lubbock, Texas.
In my science teaching, I always utilized the learning by doing method by making use of field experience and laboratory exercises. In mathematics, I mostly attempted to teach my students good problem solving skills.
