At the outset of the personal computer revolution I sold and supported Tandy computers. As part of the support function I instructed clients in the use of their computers. A whole new world blossomed for me. Teaching clients to use their computers turned out to be a long term and very rewarding experience. During my thirteen years as The Computer Tutor I encountered a multitude of student learning difficulties. By working with the individual students, creative solutions were structured and successfully executed. Tutoring the non-traditional students to achieve their goals was by far the greatest reward. A Little Bit About Me...

I am a holistic teacher who likes for students to experience the subject. For example I would have student immerse themselves into the subject of history and complete a project and present it to the other students. It was really successful and had students waiting all year.
When working towards my teaching certification I was in many classrooms from Kindergarten to 12th Grade in Pueblo School District 60. After graduation I applied and got a teaching job and I taught at Skyview Middle School in District 49 for 4 years teaching Ancient Civilizations. I have found that no matter how much anyone person would like to teach, no one can force someone to learn. With that in mind, if I remember to approach each student as an individual with his or her own abilities, concerns, and goals, I will have a more successful result as an educator. I have learned that each individual has at least one trigger, for want of a better word, which will entice them unconsciously to want to learn. One of my goals is to find that element. Teaching is a dream job since you get to directly see the results of your work. You can watch your students improve in front of your eyes and this is a result of your motivational skills. The students do the work but you are the one who reaches their inner core to pull out their ability to achieve. For each student you must find what motivates them and press those buttons. My role is to get students to believe in themselves and then to guide them through the process of education. Positive reinforcement is the key to their success. Frequently they were never given that opportunity. I make them believe in themselves and make learning fun at the same time.

I have over 23 years as a career professional of government IT services. This includes, contract negotiations, Network Engineering, CAD, Security, Multi-media, Graphic Arts and Photography. I have written a 120pg thesis entitled "Datawarehousing." I enjoy my small business "Digital Advertising" and likely have the most tutoring skills in this area.
