A Little Bit About Me...

At the outset of the personal computer revolution I sold and supported Tandy computers. As part of the support function I instructed clients in the use of their computers. A whole new world blossomed for me. Teaching clients to use their computers turned out to be a long term and very rewarding experience. During my thirteen years as The Computer Tutor I encountered a multitude of student learning difficulties. By working with the individual students, creative solutions were structured and successfully executed. Tutoring the non-traditional students to achieve their goals was by far the greatest reward. I am a holistic teacher who likes for students to experience the subject. For example I would have student immerse themselves into the subject of history and complete a project and present it to the other students. It was really successful and had students waiting all year.

I have been teaching guitar lessons for a year now. I have just graduated from Colorado State University Pueblo with my Bachelor's degree in Liberal Arts. In my education at CSU I have also acquired six credit hours in education classes and observed 60 hours in public schools.
In my experience as a musician, I have found that teaching a subject I love can really inspire students to excel. It's necessary to spread our knowledge to others. My specialty is music, but I love to teach in general because kids need good mentors. Each child is different so I use an individualized approach to my teaching styles. We all learn differently whether we are auditory, visual, or kinesthetic learners.
