As a Purdue graduate, I was the recipient of the highest level of instruction in math and science. As an undergraduate I was named on the Dean’s list six times and was inducted into the Phi Eta Sigma Honor Society. I have earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Aeronautical Engineering. In order to be granted this degree I was required to gain a great understanding in many areas of math and science. In addition, I have been on the cutting edge of computer science from the first hand held calculators. I can program in FORTRAN, Assembly, Basic, Pascal, and C languages, on a variety of platforms. After working as an engineer for 20 years, I then pursued a teaching license and have taught High School math for the last decade.

A Little Bit About Me...

My approach to composition is simple; think, write, repeat. This means that I use a process-oriented method as students draft and re-draft based upon the new ideas and insights which are gained through the practice of writing. I also employ post-process pedagogy, encouraging student participation in the world around them. I want them to engage with the private and public spheres. My goal for my students is to think about how ideas are intertwined across the disciplines and how the critical thinking skills learned in one course can work with the theoretical skills they learn in another. When they leave me, I want them to be self-sufficient learners who can analyze, organize and teach others what they have learned.
