I have been a high school teacher for 6 years and I also am a native speaker of Spanish. I can tutor with Spanish class work taught from text, workbooks, or any other resources at middle school, high school or college level. My major was Spanish in college so I have a strong background with literature from Latin America, advanced grammar and vocabulary. I am also able to tutor conversational Spanish or brush up on those Spanish skills you might need for a job or travel.

I believe the first thing you need to do is to find out what the student needs help with. At times I have used music, poetry, or computer programs to get the students attention. Repetition is very helpful and note cards are good for memorization. Taking notes is a good way for the student to stay focused. A little comedy helps too to help students to remember. I enjoy helping students, adult or younger, feel the success of learning. Sometimes it is a struggle, but it is always fulfilling to see the relief and happiness they feel when they do succeed.
