My comments on tutoring Painting : Color mixing, technique, watercolor, acrylic and spray paint

I am individually based and able to change my teaching style to best fit the students needs.
I worked for an organization called AS220. It is an arts organization with a youth program that works inside the juvenile detention facility and also has a community program for youth in group homes and recently released from prison. My first position was incorporated art into the curriculum of classrooms in the juvenile detention facility to enhance the learning experience of the students by making it hands-on. My end position was as Managing Director. During that time, I studied and implemented art programs to teach job readiness skills and finding innovative ways for learning to take place. Since that time, I have spent the last 3 years as an events manager on a cruise ship, seeing places all over the world. I have also co-lead a 2 1/2 week canoe trip with 6 teenagers. Art & Design are not about software but skills

I've been working in graphic design since I was 18 when I was in the catalog department of Mary Maxim's doing simple computer layouts, pasteups and stat camera production. I was named 'new artist for the milenia' in 2000 by the Detroit Artist Market. I work currently with politicians judges marketing firms other clients providing brand management/design, print, microwebsites, and digital illustration services.
I was taught by professionals, the teachers I had were drill sergants installing skills through repetition. I work much the same way. The lessons I create are going to repeat form and function, proportion, typography and layout, pre production planning as well as the subject matter. You have to learn to walk before you get to the Olympics. This helps refresh people looking for that, and instilling the skills and understanding of the time it will take you to get to where yo ... read more

Painting is one of my top subjects!

I have been an artist all my life. One of my earliest memories is of drawing in pre-K and beginning what was to become my beloved marker collection. The very day I became old enough, I asked to be enrolled into Houston's esteemed Glassell School of Art, where I later became a teacher in my adult life. There was never any question i would go to art school for college, and I have been a working artist ever since. I have co-founded my own art space, built my own website, managed my own art consulting business, and I presently run my own handmade artisanal jewelry business. Upon moving to Austin around two years ago, I immediately started teaching for the Dougherty Art School. I made a decision to share my creativity with others and it is one of the best decisions I have ever made! I love making art with my students!
I am a Cancer, so for those of you who follow western Astrology, feel ... read more
