A Little Bit About Me...

I have had the pleasure of teaching English to high school students for 25 years. This was an occupation that I enjoyed immensely. My duties included teaching reading comprehension on a literal and figurative level. My background enabled me to present historical background on particular novels and authors. A Little Bit About Me...

I have been taking classes at Daytona State for 1 semester, but like my credentials said, I have gotten awards through them from my Middle School, and high school. I have been tutoring since 2003. I have had multiple students at one time, so group sessions may be common in my teaching. I am in all advanced classes, and I can tutor in just about ever subjects.

I have tutored for Acers tutoring in Orlando for a full year. I have full experience with teaching reading and writing, as well as somer lower level algebra and mathematic skills. The kids have ranged from ages 8-14. As well, I have been giving guitar lessons to kids between the ages of 10-14. The children have all been able to pick up quickly, and being a song writer, I encourage the kids to seek full creativity in their music and learning. In college, I've spent my time volunteering with the youth group, and helping mentor kids in the middle school age. A Little Bit About Me...

Each child is different. I always try to notice and acknowledge what benefits each student, as I think this applies to all forms of teaching from academics to athletics. Getting on their level is what ultimately benefits the child from the get go and gains their interest. If I'm interested, then the child is interested. I do my best to make sure the child is setting their goals and doing their best to achieve them in the way and style for which they are best suited.
I have two bachelors degrees, however, I believe it is my experience teaching children that has helped me develop a good sense on how to approaching teaching scenarios. A Little Bit About Me...

As a current graduate student I've learned to not only be a student but also a teacher, in assisting my peers and family in subjects beyond their understanding. One year my students had the highest improvement in standardized math test scores in the district, for the lower level students. My student test scores have always been high so I retained the scores.
