Hearing Impaired is one of my top subjects! Providing tutoring for those interested in learning sign language. I am a verbal Deaf user of Sign Language.

My focus is teaching/tutoring American Sign Language. My experience includes teaching Sign Language classes in ministries, providing Mom and Child lessons, and Providing lessons for early childhood facilities. After building your vocabulary of signed English, we can them move on to learning the language. This stage will include attending Deaf functions to have opportunities to meet and chat with others who are Deaf.

A Little Bit About Me...

I am a recent graduate of the University of Hartford. I have a dual certification in Special Education and Elementary Education. I have taught in both Urban and Suburban areas in grades K, 1, 2,5,6, and 7. I have also tutored children in grade 4 and peers at the college level. I have tutored all elementary subjects and at the college level I have tutored in English and World History.
I have wanted to be a teacher since I was in elementary school and now that I have graduated I am excited to finally live out my childhood dreams. I am very enthusiastic, patient, and creative. I feel as though all children can learn, it's just a matter of figuring out what learning style best suits them. I truly believe in the use of positive reinforcement whenever possible.

I love working and communicating with children. Every child that I have worked with is very different, and each child presents a unique challenge for me to overcome. Allowing the child to experience and discover the new concept usually works the best. I have also found that breaking the new concept down into steps works well. Each step of the education process I try to make as fun as possible for the child. My goal for each child is that they accomplish what is possible for them.
