After receiving my BFA in Dance from the University at Buffalo, I got my first professional dancing gig with Carnival Cruise Lines. I did 4 8 month contracts with Carnival, and 1 contract with Princess Cruises traveling to Mexico, Eastern & Western Caribbean, Australia, and the Polynesian Islands. After my time at sea, I was selected to be a full time character/parade performer for Walt Disney World in Orlando, Fl. You may have seen me in "Trolley" "Celebrate the Season" "Disney's Electrical Parade" "Hoedown Happening" "Celebrate a Dream Come True Parade" and "Countdown to Fun Parade." After a full year of performing in the parks, I was asked to go on tour with Feld Entertainment's "Phineas and Ferb the Best Live Tour Ever!" Where I portrayed the role of "Milly" the Fireside Girl. I was asked to rejoin tour this summer as the role of dancer/tumbler.

I have a tendency to push myself, I was persuing a double major in college in Math and Musical Theater but made a last minute decision to focus on my math career. I then pushed myself to achieve a master's degree in Secondary Education in only a year. I began tutoring in college when I decided that I wanted to go into teaching. I gained experiences tutoring Statistics, all levels of Calculus and college Algebra. I was never at the top of my class but I was above average so I feel I understand both the students who come to understand topics well as well as those who need a little help.

I like working with children. They are so appreciative and excited when they learn and figure out a new word or anything. I am easy going and very supportive. GIven a good learning atmosphere, good support, encouragement and enthusiasm and children can learn. Everyone learns in different ways; in a one-on-one situation that can be discovered and lessons designed to best help the child.
I finished my degree by going to summer and night school; I graduated in 1979. I was the first in my family to go to college and I am very proud of that. I have become a much better writer and am much more aware of grammar through writing reports, technical papers and SOPs. Throughout my education at Alfred State University I truly believe I began to understand and appreciate others and their differences. A Little Bit About Me...

My experience in teaching has come from various settings. I have taught preschool fitness classes and dance classes. I have also substituted in grades 1-6, in reading and special education. I have student teaching experience in inclusive classrooms for 3rd and 6th grade. I have taken classes in language in literacy and worked with many reading programs.
As a special education teacher, I have learned many strategies to help stuggling learners that I believe would benefit any student. I also believe that every child has the right to succeed and I am dedicated to making sure that happens. I believe in hands-on teaching,and that students learn best by doing.
