Geometry is one of my top subjects!

i am pretty relaxed and informal, but I expect students to do the work assigned. I help, but I don't do the work for them. I use Socratic questioning to get students to understand the material. I stress learning concepts and building on them as opposed to memorizing or guessing enough to pass a test.
I received a BS in Horticulture from Va. Polytechnic Institute and State University. majored in Biology (Botany) for 3 years at Virginia Commonwealth Univ. and College of William and Mary. Recently retook Precalculus, Calculus 1, Calculus 2, and Calculus 3 at Virginia Western Community College. I have a background tutoring and running a tutoring center for STEM subjects at a community college for 3 years. I have been tutoring in some form for 6 years. My comments on tutoring Geometry : Expert at all Geometry concepts. Particularly good at breaking down the concepts and building on the concepts in order: points, lines, planes, angles, parallel lines, triangles, similarity, trigonometry, quadrilaterals, transformations, circles and area. Also good at explaining proofs and what constitutes a correct proof and showing students common errors students make in attempting proofs.

I am currently employed by a college in Roanoke, Virginia as a tutor of mathematics, chemistry, and computer science and tutor elementary school, middle school, high school, college students, and others professionally. I have taught just about all secondary levels of science throughout my teaching career. I have typically worked in county schools where each member of the department had to take on multiple tasks.
