My comments on tutoring Creative Writing : I am a semi-professional writer and am working on my first novel. I have written poems and many articles on the Internet. Creative writing has always been an integral part of my classroom.

I am a retired elementary school teacher and taught for over 15 years in the St. Louis area public/private schools. Creative Writing is one of my top subjects! I am a writer and have published a book. I taught writing every year of my thirty-two year career.

I have worked with children and teens all my life. I was a camp counselor at a YMCA camp for 6 summers in my teens and early 20s. I taught 5th grade my first year (class of 36 students!) and then taught 3rd grade for a year, 2nd grade for three years, and 4th grade for three years--all in public schools. Then I taught English at the middle school level for four years in a private school. After that I subbed and tutored for a year until I was hired to teach in a K-8 building at the 8th grade level. I taught there for nearly 20 years before I retired, teaching science, pre-algebra, and communication arts (English, reading, vocabulary, writing, grammar, and spelling.) Finding learning solutions one learner at a time!

I have 25 plus years experience in teaching children and adults. I am currently working on my PhD in education with an emphasis on curriculum and instruction. A Little Bit About Me...

I believe that all children want and try to do their best, but sometimes need an extra push.
