I described most of that in the above category. I can only add that I taught one-on-one, coached and conducted small ensembles, worked with groups of 100+ as a clinician or guest artist. I enjoyed all these levels of contact.
I was a professor at Ithaca College for 34 years in the music department. In that capacity I taught private performance lesson, coached chamber ensembles, conducted various ensembles. supervised and coached student teachers, performed in a faculty artist-in-residence quintet, performed solo recitals, assisted students in writing essays, resumes, and applications for positions in the teaching field or graduate studies. A Little Bit About Me...

Though I recently graduated with a BS in Childhood and Special Education, I have many years of experience as a teacher/trainer. I currently substitute teach Per Diem in several local districts for K-12 students. I also have gained classroom teaching experience through student teaching and field work. Prior to that, I tutored several fellow students at Monroe Community College, and volunteered as a tutor/mentor for Rochester City School District High School students, through the Liberty Partnership Program at MCC. In many of my previous positions, I was responsible for training employees. Born as a Chinese national and I speak fluent Chinese Mandarin language and I studied Business in Accounting and graduated from SUNY Brockport in 1990 and my mathematical course I always get "A" on my grade (I even get 105 on my test score, believe it or not) and I still love math. I finished my degree by going to summer and night school; I graduated in 1979. I was the first in my family to go to college and I am very proud of that. I have become a much better writer and am much more aware of grammar through writing reports, technical papers and SOPs. For a couple of years I volunteered for Literacy Volunteers because of my love of reading.
I like working with children. They are so appreciative and excited when they learn and figure out a new word or anything. I am easy going and very supportive. GIven a good learning atmosphere, good support, encouragement and enthusiasm and children can learn. Everyone learns in different ways; in a one-on-one situation that can be discovered and lessons designed to best help the child.

A Little Bit About Me...

I have a strong belief in a strengh based interview before I ever start teaching/tutoring a student. This gives me an idea of HOW the student learns, which "intelligence" he most readily learns by (from Gardner's Multiple Intelligences). I have had experience in all grades form age 3 to age 17 and have three grown children. My "style" is very science and music based as those are my two strong intelligences which fit beautifully with reading in particular. But, I adapt and teach to the initelligences of my student who may not have the strong base of either science or music interest.
