A Little Bit About Me...

During my years attending UMass Dartmouth, I recieved my Bachelor's Degree in Sociology with a minor in Business Administration. But I also gained alot of experience working with children. I tutored elementary age students in the star program and college students at my campus job in the Unity House. I also was the coordinator for the New Bedford Speech Academy. This program taught students fron 4-6th grade public speaking skills. I have applied the skills I learned to my current job as a home tutor. I tutor elementary to high school students in all subjects.
My teaching style is unique to each student's indivdual needs. I take time to recognize my students learning style and provide the need materials or teaching style based their needs. A Little Bit About Me...

Upon completion of the Masters degree in Economics from Northeastern University in 2001, I obtained employment at Citizens Bank. I am currently working on the capacity of Business System Analyst. To advance my knowledge in the Microsoft Office products I undertook courses in Advanced MS Access and Advanced MS Excel. Given my great knowledge in Microsoft Office products, I have been given responsibility to train newly hired analysts. From January 2007 until May 2009, I taught part-time as an evening Adult ESOL Instructor for the Southeastern Massachusetts SER-Jobs for Progress, Inc., located in Fall River, MA. From January to May of 2010, I taught Computer Literacy for the same organization.

As a progressive educator, I believe in attainment of the standard benchmarks by individualized methods, utilitizng a spectrum of teaching modalities. My personal affect is cheerful and professional, although I believe that learning should be fun, and with me, it is.
Prior to my second career in the field of service to at-risk senior citizens, I taught English for four years at Westport High School. Following the reduction in force made necessary by budgetary constraints, I taught for ten years at the Crystal Springs School in Assonet, MA as a Special Needs teacher. While rewarding, I missed the challenge of more literary pursuits and began teaching evening classes at a local communuity-based organization. My tutoring experience had its inception in that setting.
