I taught many different classes of Mathematics, some were individualized. I am patient, have a good sense of humor, and try to be kind to all people I work with and teach academic material to. I try to teach Mathematics in the best way for each student to learn the most from the instruction. I have taught General Math in Junior High, Algebra and Geometry in Junior High and High School, Introduction to Mathematics, and three different Algebra courses in Junior College. I have tutored Algebra through Calculus I and Elementary Statistics for the last three years. 1.5 years at both Wichita State University and Washburn University. I'm currently working on a second Bachelors degree in mathematics, but this time with an emphasis in Actuarial Science. This mixes calculus, algebra, and statistics, along with some business classes, into one, keeping them fresh in my mind. I like starting with the given information and stepping through the processes to solve a problem. Reminding them of, or even showing them, the rules, properties, and examples in the book. I normally try to find the method that best works with each pupil, then highlight on that. I also make sure not to do the work for the student. I will sometimes come up with a similar problem to work through so they can see what's really going on within the problem.

I have an affinity for foreign languages after growing up in Europe and the United States. I speak fluent Spanish as well as Swedish, my native tongue. This gives me a unique appreciation of different cultures. I earned an undergraduate degree in Spanish at the University of Missouri-Columbia and then solidified my classroom abilities by earning a Master of Education from Rockhurst University. I will share my enthusiasm for learning with my students. I love incorporating fun and different ways to learn language skills with my students that include acting, art, games and speaking.
