About Me

Experience Summary

While I had to put my studies on hold for close to a decade because of family concerns, it was during that time that I was able to establish a tutoring business based out of Seattle, WA. I gained valuable experience working with children having many unique learning styles. After returning to school, I earned my degree in Political Science. During my course of study, I learned exceptional grammatical and writing skills due to the numerous papers regard spanning many topics. The culmination was a 50 page Senior Thesis, present for graduation to several members of the University of Missouri @ Kansas City faculty members. For the past 4 years I have been working in the Kansas City, KS Public School system, first as a collaborative paraprofessional and finally as a long term substitute Math teacher. It is my love and knowledge in math that is allowed me to be successful in the classroom. I currently teach al levels of high school math.

Teaching Style

Although it has taken me a long time to find my true calling, I can honestly say that I have. I simply love teaching and working with children. I have a desire to help all students learn to their abilities in a supportive and constructive environment. All students have their own unique style of learning and it is the educator’s responsibility to determine that style and work to bring a student's hidden skills to the surface. Learning is about discovery and discovery proceeds from asking the right questions. It is my ultimate goal for each student to gain academic independence and develop an inner confidence through knowledge.
