Teaching has become part of a daily process in my life. I believe that any average student with a good and experienced teacher can equally perform as much as the best student in any field. My patience, advanced education and wealth of experience in teaching chemistry have helped me to put joy in the smiles of many students over the years. As a recent college graduate, I was driven to study engineering and music to create a balanced lifestyle. I have earned a bachelor of science with a major in engineering science and a minor in music. The ability to counteract my math and science studies with the arts is beneficial for the body and mind. My off-campus work-study job during my college career included tutoring at an after school program for children in elementary school to middle school in the subjects of math, science, and english.
I believe that all children have the ability to learn effectively. It is just a matter of understanding how that child specifically learns best, is how to provide the best possible teaching method. I love working with children. I especially love teaching them about science and mathematics because I find these subjects so interesting. There are few things more rewarding then seeing it all "click." I like to use diagrams and real life situations to explain subjects. I graduated with a 4-year degree in Mech. Eng. in 1997. I was very successful for the next 12 years, in various positions. In 2009, I changed to the IT field. As an engineer and thereafter, I mentored many friends, colleagues, and friends of friends with computers. I am familiar with MS Windows, but I plan to learn about MAC PCs soon.
